Electric cars, known for their eco-friendly features, are run using electric motors powered by electrochemical cells. As these cars use inbuilt battery packs, they are often called the Battery Electric Automobiles. Thus, they run on electricity, rather than on accepted sources of energy like petroleum and gas. These cars have come to be increasingly beloved nowadays, when the whole world is dealing with serious global warming issues. Here are the most important pros and cons of such electric cars.
Pros
• As they use a clean energy source, they do not add to the environmental pollution. No toxic emissions, fumes, or smoke is released into the air when the car is run.
• They are very energy efficient and can save nearly three times more energy than any commonplace car. Build up does not occur at all when turning them on, thus preventing unnecessary loss of energy. Similarly, maximum amount of torque can be produced by them even at zero Rpm.
• Charging the electric batteries is very cost-efficient.
• They are light in weight, safe, and contract and hence very easy to drive.
ELECTRIC
Cons
• Electric energy required to run the car needs to be stored by charging the batteries well in advance. The heavy electric batteries and linked equipments are however not very user-friendly. It takes nearly twelve hours to fee the batteries completely.
• They have a very tiny range, with their speed being lesser than cars running on accepted gas tanks.
• There is no way out if the car runs out of battery fee in the middle of your trip.
