Electrical safety Training - Hazard Recognition

Electricity is in any place in the workplace. It powers much of the computers, machinery, tool and tools used in the workplace and it allows us to see the work in the first place. Without electricity there is no workplace, yet along with its usefulness comes great danger. Electricity can start fires, damage tool and injure and kill workers with burns and shocks. One electrical emergency can put a enterprise out of enterprise for days. The allowable electrical protection training could save your enterprise millions of dollars or save the life of an employee. Electrical training is so important that Osha has established training standards for the subject. Osha divides the training into three categories - hazard recognition, allowable work practices and hazards specific to different work environments.

To understand hazard recognition it is important to understand how electricity works. Electricity is measured in force (volts) and intensity (Amps). It is the Amps that deliver electric shock. Volts supply the power for tools and machines by forcing the electricity into the machine. Amps conclude the force of that power. Electrical current will only flow when a circuit or loop is completed - the loop is an uninterrupted flow of electricity from the source to the motor and back again. This loop is interrupted by on/off switches, which stop this continuous flow.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

When too many pieces of tool are hooked up to the same circuit the wiring can get too hot and a circuit breaker will break the circuit like an on/off switch does. Every person has experienced this with his or her home circuits. You have to trek down to the fuse box or reset the circuit by popping the button on your outlet. While this safeguard is nice it doesn't always supply faultless safety. Fuses, circuits breakers and wires are all rated by how much electricity they can handle. If breakers and wires are have a higher rating than a wire, a fire can result. A competent electrician should install all wiring and electrical components.

In some instances electricity can jump from the conducting wire as it tries to faultless the circuit. It tries to find the shortest path to the ground and if a worker is in the way, it will pass right straight through causing a shock. Many machines have been fitted with a ground wire, which grabs stray electricity and sends it to the ground. "Grounding" will only work if the outlet is grounded as well. All outlets that machines use should be tested to see if they are grounded. Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters also supply protection. They immediately cut off electricity if they sense a turn in the current.

Electricity is a perilous as it is beneficial but with training your employees can greatly growth their safety. Effect the Osha guidelines for workplace protection and not only will your employees be safer but your workplace will be more productive and productive.

Using an electric Dog Training Collar to Train the Recall

One of the biggest problems my clients complain about is the fact that their dogs don't come when called. This is not only annoying but can be high-priced and dangerous. A dog that won't come when called can potentially run into traffic, run away from you and get in a dog fight, or ruin someone's picnic in the park as he runs up happily all the while ignoring your calls to return. The best way to teach the greatest recall is by using a dog training gadget called the electric dog training collar.

Before I explain how to train this rehearsal I need to first give a small bit of background on the tool that you will be using. An electric dog training collar is maybe the least understood dog training stock on the market. Many reconsider this dog training stock to mean, cruel, and violent. The truth is the opposite. Used properly, an electric dog training collar is for real one of the most humane ways to train your dog. It allows you the greatest leisure while delivering the least violent improvement (Try one on yourself. They for real aren't painful unless you use the top levels. For the recall rehearsal you will be using low levels, though.) Think about it, when giving a dog a improvement which is more humane? A jerk on a leash or a small 'bee sting' on the neck administered from an electric dog training collar?

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

An electric dog training collar allows you to give an off-leash improvement at great distances. You will harness this quality to show your dog that he must return when called no matter how far away. The first step is to teach your dog to come to you on leash. It is leading that your dog first has a knowledge of what 'come here' means before you start using the electric collar. Once he knows what 'come here' means you can start using the electric collar.

Start out by conditioning your dog to the collar. Have him wear it at odd times for several days before you even start using it. You want the dog to have a neutral association toward the collar. Too many times dog owners will put the collar on, train the dog, and take the collar off. They repeat this over and over and soon the dog learns that he only has to obey when the collar is on. For that calculate you must make him believe that training has nothing to do with the collar. If you do this properly you will be able to phase out the use of the collar and soon he will obey the same regardless of either or not he is wearing the electric dog training collar.

Once your dog is properly conditioned to the collar you can begin. I am going to teach you the mechanics of the rehearsal first and then teach you the canine science of mind of why this rehearsal works.

1. Find your dogs tolerance for the electric dog training collar. This is the unpleasant part of training with electricity but it must be done. Tie your dog out in a neutral area wearing the electric collar. Wait until he is in a neutral state of mind, not reasoning of whatever or distracted by anything. Go to the bottom level of stimulation and hit the button. Check his face to see if there is a reaction. If not, go up a level. Continue in this way until you see a small reaction. Once you find this level that is your benchmark. To train this rehearsal you will use your benchmark level minus one.

2. Have your dog wearing the dog training electric collar, a regular collar under that, and a long line attached to the regular collar.

3. Allow your dog to isolate himself from you at a distance of 10 feet or more.

4. Set the remote to your pre-determined level. The next part is going to wish a lot of coordination and custom so pay attention. There are several things that must be done simultaneously and in sequence.

5. Hold down the button on the remote for 2 seconds without saying a word.

6. As you continue to hold the button down tell your dog 'come-here', as you pull the long line toward you, and as you jog backwards. Read it twice. There are several things that need to be done at once.

7. The very instant your dog starts attractive in your direction release the button and praise your dog like crazy. When he gets to you, praise him physically and verbally.

8. Continue this procedure of action. Repetition is very important. With this rehearsal there is a 2 second window where you are giving a small improvement before you even give the command. After plentifulness of repetition you will notice that as you start to hold down the button he will start coming to you before you have had a opportunity to say 'come-here'. When you reach this point you can move to the next step.

9. In the next step you will remove the long line. Repeat the training exactly as before except you will cut out the step where you pull on the long line. Repeat this step often and for several days. When your dog is exquisite at this you can move on to the next step.

10. In the next step you are now going to remove the first part. Have your dog off leash and separated from you. Call to your dog 'come-here'. If he comes, great! Give him tons of praise. If he doesn't come, hold down the improvement button until he begins to come, at which point you will right away publish the button and praise him. Repeat this step often. Repeat it at close distances and far distances. At this point your dog understands that coming when called is fun because of the praise involved, but also that he must come every time.

Sounds easy enough, right? Ok, let's explore the canine science of mind that goes into making this rehearsal successful. At its root, this training rehearsal is flourishing because you are moderately teaching your dog how to turn off the stimulation from the collar. In the very beginning stages you turn the stimulation on for 2 seconds with no hint as to why. Your dog feels it, it isn't painful because it is a low level, but it does cause obscuring because he doesn't know why he is feeling it. As you continue with the rehearsal he begins running in your direction and the stimulation immediately turns off. With enough repetition your dog forms the association and realizes that it is the act of returning to you that turns off the stimulation. Following that, you proof the exercise. You allow him the opportunity to make a mistake by giving the command without the stimulation. If he does mess up the stimulation turns on and only turns off when he begins to return to your side.

Be very particular with this exercise. Study it out in your mind first and visualize yourself completing all the steps perfectly. Then try it out using a friend at the end of the leash instead of your dog. You must be very definite with the steps. Miscalculation of even a small bit could spell disaster for the whole exercise. For example, if your dog begins running toward you and you wait a second or two before turning off the stimulation, instead of turning it off immediately, your dog will not be able to make the association of returning to you equals stimulation turns off.

Practice makes perfect. Using the electric dog training collar can not only be fun but can be an exquisite way to train your dog.

necessary Guide to allowable Shock Training Collar Use

Using an electronic training gadget like a shock training collar to your dog is relatively easy and safe if you thoroughly understand the basic guidelines of using it.

For a lot of dog owners, the mere mentioning of an electronic collar to train their dog is intolerable. On the other hand, the idea of a shock training collar is in fact founded on humane dog training. The exploit of this training gadget for cruelty purposes thoroughly depends on the trainers and their intentions.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

This type of training collar works straight through allowing the handler or trainer to give his dog very small, electric shock using a hand held remote. Of procedure this is with the intention to modify bad dog behavior.

The intensity level of the electricity is totally controlled by the trainer. However, it is best that the first shock be set at a level that makes the dogs ears jerk in response. If the pet reacts by barking then the setting is most probably too high and must be adjusted consequently.

Training collar instructions

The first thing to do is look for a collar that has assorted levels of revision available, as well as a tone button. It is key to consequent as the collar hand-operated instructs. Put the collar on your dog for a few days but do not turn it on yet. Remember, you pal must not associate his new collar with the shock correction.

If your dog happens to be too willful and does not stop his bad behavior after the first correction, then might as well increase the revision by just a notch. But bear in mind that as much as possible you should not need to use a correction.

It is also imperative that you do not let the dog see you use the handheld revision device. You well don't want your pal to delineate the shock to you, do you? When your pet starts misbehaving, first give him a direct and firm "no!" Only after he still does not obey that you privately give him a low rate of electric shock.

Safety measures

For security purposes, do not forget to note that you need to get underway the shock at the bottom setting possible. Many dog trainers hurt their dogs with this training gadget they fail to consequent this uncomplicated principle. If your dog becomes excessively aggressive and loud subsequent to the shock, then it is most likely that you have set the shock level up to much. Certify to decrease the levels properly. Such collar intends to discipline a dog, and not to cause any pain or terror.

Using shock training collars can well be an effective tool to modify bad dog behaviors. However, caution must be observed at all times to ensure dog security as well as to bring about distinct results.

Are Electronic Shock Collars Great Dog Training Devices?

Electronic shock collars for dogs and other fancy dog training devices you find today such as electric fences did not exist when I was growing up. I remember getting my very first puppy as a kid. He was so adorable and I precisely loved him. One day a integrate of years later the dog went out and never came back. We went finding for him in any place and asked our neighbors about him but we never found the dog and no one ever knew what happened to him. My dog could have been run over by a car or stolen. Naturally, I was very sad. Could an electronic dog training collar or a shock fence have saved my dog? Who knows.

Electronic shock collars for dogs are controversial dog training devices. If you have ever studied psychology most likely you would have heard of the Pavlov dog that responded to the sound of a bell by salivating. This happened as the bell sound was repeatedly followed by the serving of food, and after a while the dog would salivate when hearing the bell even when there was no food following it. This type of phenomenon is called conditioning, and in this case it's definite conditioning. They work using the same principle but in a negative way (negative conditioning). The shock (which is a form of punishment) is delivered whenever the dog does something undesirable like barking excessively, wandering to a definite area or too close to traffic, and even performing a wrong move. After a while the dog is supposed to refrain from doing those things in order to avoid punishment.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

Those who advocate using them to train dogs claim that they are totally safe and won't physically harm your dog. On the other hand, those who oppose are implicated that these electronic dog training devices are inhumane, not all the time effective, and could even cause hereafter behavior problems.

Furthermore, others argue that in the hands of inexperienced users electronic shock collars for dogs can be misused and abused, and cause harm to the dogs. Yet an additional one concern is the possible injury to the dog should the equipment malfunction. Some habitancy even recommend banning these electronic dog training devices. I don't currently have a dog but if I did would I use a shock collar to train my dog? I would say no. We can't perhaps know exactly what the dog feels when the shocks are administered. Even if they don't harm the dog, for sure they're not something pleasant.

I am a strong proponent of using definite reinforcement (the carrot) whenever possible in behavior training either in humans or animals, and electronic collars for dogs use negative reinforcement (the stick). I understand that in definite situations both need to be used but in my belief the equilibrium should tip heavily toward the positive. Those who own pets are most likely animal lovers. Many even love their pets as much as they love their children, and I'm sure they wouldn't use electric shocks to punish their children. So why use them to train their dogs or other pets?

The point of Dog Training Collars

Dog collars were used as an identification, if a dog was lost or strayed away. It carried the name of his owner and address. Today dog collars come with many gadgets which are helpful to train a dog and help him to obey orders.

A puppy is like a small kid and should be taught good manners. A dog must be trained to obey uncomplicated words like stand, wait, go, come, quite etc. At first he will not understand but will learn soon. All the time reward him when he follows the rules by saying, 'Good Dog' and patting him. Teaching him the basic commands will help you to operate your dog when you go outside with him in the park or streets and every one in the public places will feel safe. But for training him not to chew things, stray away from your house limits, barking at an unhourly time is difficult. Here you can use the Dog Training Collars. It is an electronic system, the sensors are fitted colse to the fence in which you want your dog confined. The transmitter with a mic is fitted in the dog's collar. There are many types of collars which are used to distract your dog.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

1 ) The shock collar can be controlled automatically and is also supplied with a remote control. When it barks an automatic signal is conveyed to the receiver in the collar which releases a mild shock. Big dogs which are kept by old people for protection can be very well controlled by using this shock collar. A trainer also uses this collar to train and operate wild and aggressive dog.

2 ) The citronella collar activates when a dog barks by shooting a small spray of citronella in front of the dogs nose, and distracts him. Citronella is not harmful but its smell just irritates the dog.

3 ) The ultrasonic collars delivers an ultrasonic sound when a dog barks. This sound is not heard by human but dog hears it and finds it very annoying and stops barking.

These Dog training collars also keep the dogs from crossing the fence. Whenever a dog tries to pass by the fence the sensor sends a beep signal and the beeper begins beeping and avoids the dog from not crossing but if it still disobeys then automatically a shock or a spray or an ultrasound is released to distract the dog. After some time the dog will start to obey, in order to spare himself from someone else spray, shock or an ultrasound.

A dog can move freely in the confinement area, and be safe from getting hit by a car and the owner can also remain assured that the dog is safe. His barking is also controlled and no one will be disturbed.

Collar Training With Dogtra

Using a Dogtra dog training collar has been my beloved arrival to dog training and I am helping older population who have a hard time controlling their dog because of shoulder problems to use the electronic dog collars.

The Remote training collar or previously known to many as a shock collar has gotten a bad rap over time by many population because of the misinformation and misuse of the stock in training.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

In fact, these types of collars are one of the most humane and inescapable ways to train your dog without fear and potential damage to their neck because of yanking. However, like any training tool or piece of tool there are ways to use it right and wrong. Before you settle to use a dog collar you need to learn the literal, way to use it.

In fact the literal, way to use the dog training collar involves no pain to the dog. There are categorically three buttons for use on the transmitter. There is a vibration only button that causes the collar to vibrate similar to a cell phone. A light button which gives a momentary flick of static shock and a constant button that continually emits the static shock for a duration of about 20 seconds.

There are also levels of stimulation from 0-100 and a dial to set the correction.

The actual stimulation emitted by the collar is static electricity just like you would feel when you rub your feet across a carpeted floor and touch a door knob or something metal.

The proper use of the collar involves setting the collar training level to your dog's level of sensitivity and an area where your dog just notices a vibration by the collar.

What is great about the collar is it offers the capability for population with muscle or shoulder problems to work with their dog instead of pulling on a leash.

Buying and Using an Electronic Dog Training Collar

If you currently own a dog that seems a bit hard to train then you might be considering buying an electronic dog training collar. While the idea of using an electronic collar may be intelligent it is prominent to understand that it is just an additional one method of training your dog. It is not the be all and end all of dog training, but used properly it can deliver very good results when other training methods just don't seem to work.

When you go to buy an electronic dog training collar be aware that you will find some distinct types that have differences in how they work. The type most people are familiar with is the electronic shock collar, which emits a low voltage fee that gets the dog attention. There are two other types of electric dog collars, one that works by emitting a high pitched sound that the dog finds extremely annoying and the other choice is a citronella collar that works by squirting citronella in front of the dog's nose. Dogs do not particularly like the smell of citronella. No matter which version you choose they all work by getting your dogs attention and annoying it in an unpleasant way. Dogs, much like humans, will do whatever is principal to avoid these annoyances even if it means obeying their owner.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

Using an electronic dog training collar is rather straightforward, but remember, it is only a tool to help you accomplish the results you want with your dog. The collar won't train your dog for you; it is a tool that you use to reprimand your dog when it does not obey your commands. For instance when training your dog to sit give the command "sit", push slowly but firmly on the lower back which makes your dog assume the sitting position. You must do this some times so the dog understands what you are asking it to do. Only after demonstrating to the dog some times what he is to do with a definite command do you try and give the command without any human intervention, ie pushing his but down. A dog that catches on quick and obeys should be praised and rewarded with a treat. If the dog refuses to obey this is the time to use the electronic collar. After getting your dogs attention with the collar start over by giving the command and pushing his hind end down into the sitting position and repeat the whole process over.

One of the more popular uses for an electronic dog training collar is the invisible fence. By running a thin wire colse to the outside of your yard the dog that sets off a beeping alarm whenever your dog approaches the property boundaries the dog learns to stay on your property and not stroll off. If the dog ignores the beeping and continues to coming the boundary the collar will give a low grade shock that gets his attention. Soon the dog learns to identify the beeping and what ignoring the warning means. It should be mentioned that while this method works with the majority of dogs if your dog is overly aggressive no whole of beeping, citronella, or electrical shock will keep him from running through an invisible fence boundary.

Using an electronic dog training collar is a good alternative to training a hard to train dog as long as it is used for its intended purpose. This type of dog collar should be used as a training tool that helps modify a dog's behavior. It should never be used as a way to punish or in any way inflict needless pain on a dog. Used correctly chances are you will only need to use it sparingly and before long your dog will learn to obey your commands without it.

How Do Dog Training Shock Collars assuredly Work?

I had to train my chocolate lab because he is allowed to walk freely with me on my neighborhood walks. I decided to try shock collars. I started out with an uncostly model that had a range of about 300 feet and had seven levels of sensitivity.

The literature that came with the stock describes the shock that is delivered as something like static electricity. I accidentally shocked myself one day and that is exactly what it is. The sensation you feel is just like the static electricity you get on a cold dry day. It is mildly unpleasant as you know if you have contact touching someone and receiving the shock from static electricity.

SHOCK YOU LIKE AN ELECTRIC EEL

I used this to train my dog to listen to me when I gave a command and it made the training much easier. I have since graduated to a model that had 15 levels of stimulation as well as a tone which only the dog can hear and delivers no stimulation. You can also set the tone to sound when you deliver the stimulation so the dog with the shock collar anticipates the stimulation when you use the tone only feature.

I have two labs and whenever we go on our walks they are free to roam but the dog training shock collars bring them back quickly if they speculation to far or other citizen or animals are approaching. Most of the time I don't even deliver any stimulation and just use the tone. Actually just putting the collar on turned off is very productive in a lot of cases especially if there are no other dogs to chase. The dogs are well trained now and the only intuit I even use the collar is just in case the cat or squirrel runs by.
